TIMOR MASKS

Timor masks fall into three categories Protective, Disguise and Shamanistic.  There is no theatrical or dance mask tradition in Timor.

These Shamanistic masks are "found object" artifacts, made in nature and revealed for a specific person or purpose.  Shamanistic masks can be protective but not all protective masks are Shamanistic.
High resolution j pegs are available on request.
